Great pics of the older ones!

I have to wonder, since engraving takes skill, time, and effort, if that backwards Indian cent was not someone making something like a wax seal stamp using the penny? It would sure make a fancy one.

That's a great thought. Makes total sense. I looked at the reverse and there is no residual solder or even glue to have put some type of handle on it. Would have been hard to use though if that is the case.

I saw your thread while looking around in the forum...and thought.....

I should have seen if you wanted to buy the masonic counterstamp I just sold on ebay before I offered it there.

And then I realized you bought it from me on ebay.

Looking forward to seeing that one added to your thread by the end of the week.

Yeah, I thought of that also. But I also thought it may have been an unfinished project? Unless the carver was severely dyslexic, it had to be carved backwards on purpose

Great cutout!

But aren't those typically done with a coping saw (non mechanized)? We used to have a member in here who showed how he did this. Not sure who it was and if he is still here or not?

It is nohope587.

There are numerous topics of his work in the Tokens, Medals, Challenge Coins, and other Exonumia. Click the link and type 'nohope' into the "Search this Forum" box to the left above the topic list.

Thanks for the information Earle and JBuck. A coping saw makes a lot of sense.
