Good evening everyone. I trust that your Christmas was a blessed time with family and friends. I do have a few questions and I hope I posted in the right place, but I am looking for some specific coins. Please read below:
1. 1943 copper penny (an error coin) 2. Civil War coins (US and CS 1861-1865)
Also, I am working on a project where I want to obtain coins from the 8 major wars the US was involved in. However, I would like some input on where I should be looking and what I should look for in determining fakes/counter fits.
Thanks in advance.

Heritage has a copper 43 coming up soon. Mucho bucks, but I guess you wouldn't ask about one if you didn't know that.

@aingers2, we can definitely help you with the information that you are seeking. However, you should re-familiarize yourself with the rules relating to buying and selling coins here on CCF: http://goccf.com/t/221419Looks like you still have a little further to go before you can participate as a buyer.

Quote: 1. 1943 copper penny (an error coin) You do realize that'll cost somewhere around $300,000, right?

to the funny farm and coinoholic rehab center. I have a disturbed 1943D copper Cent that I'll sell to you for a lot cheaper than that, so will the Chinese manufacturer's on the no-no site for $2 apiece...like this: OOOPS! As to war coins, those from the Civil War are pricey for issued coins and the tokens are very pricey as collectables. Look on auctions, as for other wars, pick your dates on auction sites like the rest of us do. PS: best stick around here for quite a while, a WHOLE LOT to learn about counterfeits to begin with.

We are very, very good at helping people with specific questions. Less so at helping with general "please do my homework for me". If that's unfair, sorry, but that's how the questions come across. Please create separate, more detailed questions for each of your three+ items.

That 1943 Copper Cent is a fun one to get. Actually there are many Copper Plated ones available. Not done at the Mint though. You in for a lot of fun trying to get coins from way, way back. Good luck.
