Identification Assistance: 11th Century Coin

Therad New Member Georgia 13 Posts	Posted 12/27/2017 04:44 am Hello Friends! Recently got my hands on this one, please help with the identification. The only things I know are: 1. The coin was found in republic of Georgia. 2. The Symbols/Letters are probably Arabic. 3. Estimated period when the coin was struck: circa 11th century. 4. Probably obverse was struck twice. When you first posted this, I thought that there were some similarities to coins from 11th to 13th Century Messina (Sicily), but I only found four- and six-spoked wheels rather than the eight-spoked wheel on your coin. I understand that the coin was found in Georgia, but what makes you think it dates to the 11th Century?
