I use gun safe as someone mentioned above.

One thing many people ignore is insurance when it comes to their coin collections. Even if in a safe things can happen theft, fire, flood etc... Depending on value it is worth considering as your collection grows. Even in the banks safety deposit check that what you have is insured for the unlikely but possible "bad event"
And no - I don't sell insurance!

I know I've read that a "fire proof safe" is not a could canidate for coins; unfortunately I read too much and can not remember where I read the article.

It is because their insulation contains moisture (to improved fire retardancy) which is released over time.

Yes jbuck that was it. I could not help but notice after you quoted me that "could" in my post, could - good what's the difference? And candidate would read much better maybe I should use that spell check and / or type more slowly
