Does anyone know the RCM schedule for the 2018 PL sets? I was lurking about their website but could not find any information. I bought them last year, I think it was early on in the year but don't remember specifically when.

PL sets have not been issued since 2010. Their replacements are pliofilm packaged circulation coins.

They usually come out late spring or early summer.

I did a search on the RCM website and nothing came up for the uncirculated set. I did a search on ebay and there are some selling it as a pre-order but no date was given. Right now I am undecided if I will buy a set or just buy sets from rolls on ebay for a fraction of the cost.

Prestige members have been send order forms for the set a couple of days ago, set should show up on RCM site shortly. Price now $26.95 for the circulation set.

The more I think about it I think I'm leaning towards buying the coin set put together from rolls. I always see them on ebay. I can no longer justify the cost of the uncirculated sets. For 2018 I am changing the way I am buying coins as far as format and costs.

Yes the prices are getting out of hand, I hesitated then ordered one set. Probably my last as you can buy them cheaper from the dealers after they discover nobody wants them At that price. If the mint didn't wholesale them to dealers I think the prices would be more stable as there wouldn't be sales at reduced prices by dealers cutting their margins to reduce inventories.

I'm not thrilled about the constant increase in prices - it seems like they've gone up close to 50% in the past few years. I'll get one anyway so I won't miss a year. I'll probably just wait until they're available at the post office.

I'm waiting to get them for 50% in a few months.

Does anyone know why the 2018 uncirculated sets are so hard to find? Each new year usually hangs around for a while before being sold out or archived by the RCM.
