I bought this for the Silver Victoria 1967 Medal. There were originally 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals. Only one silver medal survived with the set. I like the crest on the medal, and the double date. Cool 60's packaging made some toning, blue dime, and steely blue fields. Some of the coins are PL. All are loose in the felt and move around. I see 925 stamped on the reverse under the 1967 date and a hallmark under the 1867 date. All comments welcome, if you have any of these gold or silver medals, please post. Beautiful medal! Too bad the set is not complete. Any indication as to who struck the medals?

Nice pickup SilverDon. Have never seen that set before. Great looking medal. Hope someone can post pictures of the others. Would like to see the large silver one that went in the middle.

I believe that is the 'McTavish Medal". It was available in both .999 silver and 24K gold. ICCS grades and certifies those, as well.

Good sleuthing SPP. My silver medal is stamped 925 with a hallmark, and shown as 925/1000 on the Card enclosed. The gold medal is described as 900/1000 in the COA. Just wondering if a number of distributors had medals struck for their own purposes using different metal contents and using the McTavish dies. Nice price $25 for 7 grams of pure gold.

Great medals. A local collector wrote about these recently. There are a few varieties. The gold are very common around here as a local pulp and paper company gave them out to their employees when they were released.

Chequer showed me this picture of his gold medal, a gift from the local Rothsay Paper as he noted above. Added with permission.
