After hearing rumors that a car was buried in my backyard, I got bored and decided to look for it one day with a metal detector. I never found it and eventually decided to give up. Today I was bored again and decided to go see if I could find anything. The dinging began. I had no idea what I was digging up.. the hole just kept getting bigger and bigger.....Finally, I found this big piece of metal but still had no idea what it was. After some more digging a Ford emblem surfaced! Right then I knew I had found the car that I'd heard about. Apparently it had been buried there years and years ago to keep this certain part of the land from washing out when it floods in that field. We dug up enough of the car to get into the trunk (we ended up just pulling it apart to see if anything was inside- which is why the trunk is now torn up) Anyways, we eventually tired and had to call it a day. We've been researching it and trying to figure out what kind of car it actually is. So far, all we know is that it is a 50's model Ford. Maybe one day the rest of it will be dug up :P Sure, its a piece of junk, but how many people can say they found a car buried in the yard?

All I can say is holy cow. That's a lot of digging. Can you imagine getting permission to hunt someones property and then seeing you dig a hole that big in their yard.

if there was a car in my yard it would probably have a body in the trunk and I wouldn't want to dig it up

Lol we thought about there being a body in it lol.. I'm trying to figure out if I should dig up the rest.. its right behind my house and has already made a big mess lol. I would LOVE to see the interior though.. almost to it but no quite that close.. it gets deeper as it goes cause its at an angle in the ground..

Where do you live? Maybe you'll find Jimmy Hoffa.

Amazing!

You might as well complete your dig, would be interesting to see how much of it "held up" underground!

Put it on ebay. If you tell a good story, you'd be amazed at how much people will pay for it.

lol yeah I probably could sell it.. I've been debating on digging the whole thing.. I really wanna but its already made such a mess and I have no way of getting it out of the ground. If I dig any further I will be sure to post new pictures though! Maybe tomorrow I will consider digging to the interior..

Id definitely complete the dig cause you could find old coins in the car. Especially under the seats and behind em. Oops didnt see that Jim wrote the same thing.
