I'm thinking of getting a Garret Ace 250 and detecting in Australia, but it is worth it?

That depends what you mean by worth it

I used to detect on Currarong Beach- found a fair few coins and some jewelry.

what are you looking for and where will you look?

(Not specifics- I mean outback- on beaches in Parks?)

Goodie,

Theres a couple parks near me and a primary school, which are like 2 mins drive in our small town.

I would take it to the beach whenever we go, about twice a year.

How much change did you find in one day?

Don't know what you mean by "worth it." Unless you are fortunate, you'll never pay for the metal detector with your finds. But you can have many hours of fun searching for coins and other metal objects that have been lost. It all depends on your goals, I suppose.

I enjoy metal detecting...but have put that hobby on hold for awhile. Too many other things to do just now.

If you like finding stuff...could be a good hobby for you.
