In the Sunday paper this weekend there is a mail-in offer for the completed set of Uncirculated Statehood Quarters including a Bonus offer of the Uncirculated Westward Jounrey Nickels for 15.95 w/ FREE SHIPPING...
Max Limit of 5 sets....

This offer really sounds very good, I mean you get $12.00 worth of coins... so you are paying 15.95 for the whole set SHIPPED ... it just doesn't seem right because how could they afford to do this shipping is probably $2-3 so they are turning a 95 cent profit?

anyone know of this or think this is legitimate?

Was this an add for Littleton Coins? If so, it is an introductory offer to get you involved in their approval service. Even if it is not Littleton, it might be a similar service from another vendor or just a way to get you on mailing lists. Check the fine print for details.

Yes. Every few weeks they will send you coins; you either pay for them or send them back. They will also send catalogs that you can order coins and supplies from. Their prices tend to be high. They may or may not be difficult when you try to cancel. I did a stint with them in the early 80's and it was okay; actually better than the dealer I had where I lived at the time. YMMV!
