Yours doesn't look like it is in the right place, it might just be from the staining.

I thought I might have something just because of the greased out roof and what's going on in extreme upper left in the memorial what sort of looks like there's Fire coming out of the end of the building. The toning and staining is just sort of an oddity and distraction. I guess I shouldn't focus on that so much., but the way it all is laid out on the coin it just looked cool though... like some kind of 1980s street art LOL. If not no worries

@ E&V if I could ask one quick question and I'll get out of your hair... Am I Chasing Ghosts again or does the "973" on this date look a little thickish and guilty and maybe a notch on this R in LIBERTY? Is an Impulse question and against my better judgement because I know 73 doesn't really have much in the way of doubled obverse action. Cheers and have a good weekend!

CouchDiver1978, the date is a little thick, but that was caused by circulation wear and flattening. The R in "LIBERTY" is showing damage from metal displacement.

Panther, I use the LED lights on my Plugable USB microscope, as well as using a loghting from a lamp and natural sunlight, if it's still available.

Late to the game on this one but very cool find on the 73d, I may have to rummage through my jar of change to find this one. And I'm with ya, Errers and Varietys, the Plugable mic needs some other light since its own light almost wipes out finer details on the coins

Thank you j0b! When you find it, you can post pictures of it here. I'll help you out. And I do agree that the Plugable USB microscope needs another light source to get rid of that glare.

@errers and varietys I believe this coin is related to yours with the similiar flattening on the Memorial building. If so, I was wondering if the doubling could be a result of the repair to the die? I know when the doubling is shelf-like, one can check the box next to MD but since the devices are not reduced in size wanted a professional opinion...
