These zincolns probably will be rare 50 years from nowin this condition seeing how crappy they end up after only ond year in circulation. Ive seen 2017s that have no luster left and look like old wheaties. Whats the grade on this survivor? Edited by ChangeFinds1997 01/06/2018 03:40 am

Pictures too small for an accurate grade but looks like a nice example.

Rare finding a Zinc cent that old in circulation that is still mint state. Quote: highest therefore in my book is AU-58 A coin can be "circulated" and still be a mint state coin! Uncirculated is not even a grade, it's a term some use to describe mint state. How can a grading company grade a toned coin at mint state condition, when it clearly did not come from the mint toned?

Yeah it was really stunning to come out of a coin roll. It must of been one some kid stole from a mint set. Although I'm not the one who opened the roll, it came from a fress penny roll broken open by the gas station. I wonder if it coulda been a mint roll

Could have been a mint roll. When people steal or inherit collections, many times the bulk of them get spent at face value. Very nice coin BadThad!

What I did was to start a roll set collection with these as I found them. It got to the point where is was becoming VERY difficult to find coins for my main collection (it's really high grade) and I couldn't stomach tossing coins like yours back into circulation. Just too nice to give them the death sentence. LOL The next phase in the roll set was upgrading each roll. I keep the nicest coins in the bottom of each roll so, when I find a candidate, I only have to look at the top 10 or so to tell if was an upgrade. Some of the rolls are so nice now I gave up trying finding better coins. Here's one of the boxes I use to organize:
