@Dcadon: I'm embarrassed to say that I just used my mobile phone (iPhone 6s) to take the picture.

Everybody please take a look at my coin (2017 $50 Canadian Icons):

Fracture-On-Coin-Obverse

It even has an "S" on the Queen's face! What an oddity!

Yes, I returned it.

This coin was also returned.

Not going to pay $1,800 for a "C".

I also bought 3 "Enameled Our Home and Native Land Proof Silver" coins as Christmas gifts from a dealer. These coins were so bad that I don't even want to give them as gifts (who would want to keep a coin with a "S", a "C", or a "L" on it?). I returned all of them, even though I had to pay the shipping.

Below are 3 images from the 3 coins:

I ended up buying bullion coins as gifts.

@JGG: Please message me, if you're still interested in the coin. I'd be glad to sell it to you, instead of returning it.

@quasarito, while that is a really neat coin and clearly you generated some vigorous discussion and interest from posting, now is probably a good time to review the CCF rules on buying and selling:

My sentiments exactly. It is one thing for a circulation coin with a maximum face value of $2 to have a so called "error" but no way I will tolerate a "defect" on an expensive coin.

@Spence: My apologies if I broke a forum rule. It was not on purpose. I had no intention of making a sale, nor considered it. Another member expressed an interest to which I responded. What is the proper protocol here?

@quasarito, no prob at all and I see that I came off a little heavy-handed with my post.

Basically, in order to sell something on CCF, you need to have at least 250 posts (but only 50 to buy). As you are still at 58 posts, it will likely take you a little while to accumulate the necessary posts. Remember that CCF is primarily a forum for learning about coins rather than a forum for selling them and so this encourages folks to hang out a little and learn/teach rather than blow in and try to sell a bunch of stuff. Once you get up to the minimum number of posts, you can start a thread over in the "New CCF Member Sales" section of CCF (which is accessible when you click on the "Home" button at the top of your screen).

Hmmm. From what I can tell doing some cursory reading about "struck-through coin", there are some collectors who value this sort of things as it's considered a uniquely minted coin because it was made at the "minting" step, as opposed to damage/defect caused after the coin is minted ( PMD). I guess it's a matter of perspective, or semantics. Presumably, because it was missed by QA, it makes it all the more rare?

Proof collector coins are intended to be flawless. What one might percieve as unique errors, others attribute to imperfections and RCM's diminishing manufacturing standards including lax quality control.

I'm not suggesting you should return it, just to mention why NCLT errors have limited appeal.

I may be wrong, but it appears all of those pics were taken through a capsule. Are you sure that wasn't simply lint inside the capsule on top of the coin? It wouldn't be surprising.

The customer service agents asked the same questions.

I checked them at different angles under light. If it's dust particles on capsule, it would cast a shade on the coin. If it's an imperfection (scratch, struck through, etc) on the coin, you will see the depth of this imperfection; and it reflects light differently.

When it comes to errors on NCLT... there has to be a "wow-factor"... the more the "wow", the more the premium...

For example, this coin has a pretty serious premium on it. It is supposed to be struck on a 22K gold planchet - but was struck on a nickel 50-cent planchet instead.
