This is a Two-fer, filled 9 and filled B variety...

Haha...that's good...

So I have noticed in these rolls a progression from an individually small partially filled 9, individually small partially filled B to greater filled individual 9's, B's and even a 5 to jointly filled 9's and B's...More than 20 so far.

What I plan to do is try to lay them out starting from the 1957-D's that do not have the filled dies through the most severely filled dies and skull cracks.

That might make a cool presentation deck!

I did that a while back, on a 57D as matter of fact, different dies tho...

1957Ds are known for being very overworked. They were not wanting to make anymore reverse dies because they knew of the change in 59, plus the obverses were being retooled as well.

Great detail and explanation Crazyb0! I am hoping I can do some thing like that. Thanks for sharing!

I am not sure I know enough of the progression to do it justice like you have...

I also have an entire series of these as well... Got 15 pennies in all!

Some have "9" filled and some have both "9 & 5" and then there are also some with only the "5"... just took pics today of all the fills and was going to do a presentation as well...but found this post.

Just gonna post a few examples!

Now after reading through this... I am going to have to go back through and look at the 'B' in liberty on them, I was hyper focused on the date die chips... lol
