Plated? No star lines and other mushiness...that or a fake, Reeded? Area on hair looks like plating didn't take or got touched before it set up.

Could be silver solder where something was once attached and later removed?

I don't know - looks more like a hole you would see with an acidic corrosive

Oh well it's going to ebay...

Oxide or sulfide deposit.
Nowhere as bad as bronze disease for bronze / copper coins.

The pictures look flat.
Was the image scanned or photographed?

If photographed, then I have problems with the lack of luster that this coin has, in this condition.


Three tests:
Needs to be checked accurately for weight, and with a magnet.
Does it make the same ring sound as a genuine silver dollar?
