Check out topics under Coin Photography section for setup, from there you will have ideas on doing your own set up.

Coin photography does not have to be complicated in order to share informative images with us to help you...

Many CCF members get by with their smart phones ... more use point-and-shoot mini cameras ... and then there are the professional members with true DSLR cameras and macro focus lenses.

Let us know what you have as equipment in that continuum ... and then we can help.

If its errors that you are looking to share, you will want a way of taking super close up pics. Assuming you have a smart phone, you can use the idea in this thread http://goccf.com/t/160666&whichpage=1

I do not in any way think that I'm a professional in any way but do have this set up and it is set up all the time.
If you are going to be taking a lot of photo's this is the way to go, IMO

Thank you so much. I thought I was going to spend a lot of dough on a new camera setup. I will be sending a lot of error coins as soon as I get a laser pointer. Thanks again

Thanks for all your help. You can take the lens out of a laser pointer($9.99) secure it over the lens of a Smart Phone with a large bobby pin. You can use tape to hold it in place. It turns your Smart Phone into a microscope. I'm waiting for a laser pointer to show up from the mail.
