Hi all, found this 1972 nickel with two holes on obverse and raised in reverse. Is it a PMD, strikethrough or something else? Thanks,

to the forum!

The coin is damaged.
You can tell by the way it is pushed out on the opposite side.

The holes are roughly the same size and depth. I can't think of a punching press that is two-pronged but it is something like that. A hydraulic press...hmmm, like the edge dimpler used on heat duct making and installation to bend the tin and punch indentions to hold two pieces of flat sheet metal together.

How it happened is unknown to me, but it is most definitely post-mint damage.
