How many cents is actually in 1lb of wheaties?

is $11.95 too much for 1lb of supposed "unsearched" wheaties?

I am going to buy 1 bag to see what I can find.. if they are good I may buy more...

It works out to 146 in a pound, close enough to three rolls. So you'd be paying around four dollars a roll. Not a spectacular bargain, but not the worst price I've seen either.

146 wheaties for $12 is not a good buy. BobK's figures are correct but watch out for people who use troy ounces & pounds as they vary from our "normal" english system.

The going rate for wheaties is about $2/roll or $6/pound.

Good Luck!

I sold a bunch of wheats for $3.50/100. These were originally from an alleged "unsearched" bag, which I suspect was searched after all. Very few people have found the elusive "unsearched" wheat cache; the majority are mostly circulated bulk wheats @ 3-4 cents each.

I mostly see them going for 4-5 cents apiece, once you factor in shipping. It is important to include the shipping cost into it, because shipping wheats can get expensive.

There were two very large auctions for wheats recently on ebay:

127,500 wheats for 5965 +450 shipping, yes $450 (.05 ea) on 4/20/08

35,000 wheats guaranteed to have teens & 20s for 1282.89 + $30 (.0375 each) on 5/7/08

so me paying 2.50 a roll thats 5 cents a piece do you think thats to much? I have found a few twenties and couple 1919s out of a few rolls, coins not in great shape as I imagined he searched them well for BU grades and such.

I paid $5 a lb. just a year ago. $11.95 is way too much for what will probably be mostly 1950's wheats with a scattering of 40's and a few 30's. If your lucky you might find 1 or 2 from the teens and 20's. If it were me I would save my money.
