That looks like Coin rolling damage. The machine that rolls pennies into 50¢ rolls can sometimes create a circular scratch on the end coins.

With the Copper plating broken open exposing the Zinc, it will degrade very quickly with the least amount of moisture, even from the air.
Hate to see your retirement be gone when you need it. These coins are not made to save away for long periods of time.

To CCF! I do agree with the others that it's PMD (Post Mint Damage). It was caused by a Coin Wrapping Machine. Worth face value.
