I've seen this exact coin 3 times in the past year with the same amount off center and same direction from different sellers. This is the first seller to call it an Antique Imitation(fake) The others were sold as genuine errors. I just wanted to give a heads up to people that errors are being faked now. Seller has sold one but 7 more are available. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lincoln-On....m1438.l2649 Edited by jasper62 01/14/2018 1:32 pm

Yeah definitely a fake. Lincoln's face looks a bit worried.

I have never seen a seller with 100% negative feedback before.

Apparently another one has sold since I started this thread. Very dishonest people buy this crap at $4.20 then resell without any mention of a fake. If memory serves me correctly one of the other ones sold for over $50.00

I just noticed 295 listings & every coin listed is a fake. Why is ebay allowing this to happen?

It's such a shame to see stupid dishonest sellers selling their crappy fake coins to buyers. I hope this listing gets taken down as this seller has already suckered two buyers already. To new coin collecters, please be very careful when buying coins on ebay.

It goes back to the old adages . . .
+ Buy the book before you buy the coin + Know your dealer + If it looks too good to be true, it is
I miss the days of Teletrade, before it was vacuumed into the giant auction company vortex. We need another collector auction platform with close regulation.

This seller is listing his tokens as copies, not purposely misleading people, but on the other hand, he does refer to them as "coins", which they are not. By selling them to others, he is making them available to the market, which is a bad thing.

The fake "coins" in question lack the "REPLICA" inscription required by federal law.
The Hobby Protection Act covers replicas. The Act can be found at 16 U.S.C. Sections 2101 and following, and the administrative regulations can be found at 16 C.F.R. Part 304. The Hobby Protection Act is administered by the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov).
Maybe a flurry of complaints would do some good?
