Just won this lot in the Solidus auction. Yes, I know they are not in perfect condition. However, I wanted the spear type solidus of Justinian and I wanted a tremissis of him as well. Now I have both. They both have some character to them, just like the past few solidii I have bought.
Now I have to track down the Sear and DOC references.

Lot (2 pieces): 1 solidus, 1 tremissis; Constantinopolis.
Vs: Helmeted bust with pearl diadem, tank, shouldered lance and shield en face / Draped bust with diadem, paludament and tank on the right.
Rs: Victoria with cross-staff and cross globe standing in front / Victoria with wreath and cross-globe going to the right.
3.90 g - 20 mm / 1.16 g - 16 mm.
Small embossed weakness, antique cropped, graffiti, very nice.
