This particular scam has not yet been observed with coin sales (TTBOMK), but it could just as well happen with any item.

What to beware of:
An item that is BIN at a "too-low" price. (something to be aware of anyways.)

What will happen:
You will receive the item as expected.

SO, what's the scam?
So, we all know that there is a market for trading stolen credit card numbers. The obvious problem with a stolen credit card number is trackability. You order stuff with a stolen card, and you just gave away your name and address to the authorities. What some crafty criminals came up with- buy stuff for other people with stolen credit cards and get them to pay you via paypal. After you pay for your item on ebay, the bad guys will make an order from a 3rd party merchant using a stolen card, and give YOUR name and address. They never go back to ebay and upload the tracking so there is nothing that ties the ebay transaction to the order.
Now you like like a thief and you have no way of proving that you did not order the goods with a stolen card. Try explaining to the fraud department that the $100s of dollars worth of silver that were sent to your home and ordered with a stolen card were ordered by someone else!!
This happened to a relative who ordered vitamins from an ebay seller. It cold just as well happen with precious metals or coins.

BEWARE!

I know of no merchants that that would work. If you enter cc info online it is submitted to the processor, if the card number, name, and address don't all match, it's declined.

Next time you order something online, misspell your name in the "Name on Card" field and try it for yourself.
Rest in Peace

Pay pal will reimburse you if you fill out a claim with this type of transaction fraud.

The shipping address does not need to be the same as the billing address. They may have the correct billing address.

Maybe, but it is a headache best to avoid in the 1st place.

Just to add on this, we setup many online credit card processing procedures, and one of the largest credit card processors, Authorize dot net, can be configured by sellers to check certain parameters for acceptance.

For instance, you can check the first and last names and zip code, OR last name, zip code, and street address number. Or you can check all parameters before accepting. Most of sellers will check first & last names & the zip code.

You just have to be careful whenever you are typing your credit card numbers. Also, Paypal & Amazon ID & password. make sure you setup 2-step verification process where they will text you a code to sign in from a new location/computer.

And I also want to add that when you have fraudulent charges in Paypal account, they will give you money back for smaller amounts, but be aware, for large amount where thieves ordered merchandise to a different location, they will try NOT to give you money back with dumbest excuses.

We had to call several times and speak to the supervisor with threat of contacting local TV stations before getting $2400 fraudulent charge reversed! It was 24 days, 5 phone calls ordeal.
