I say fake. Look at the casting bubbles on the obverse

Looks ok to me. Some kind of damage on the obverse at 12:00, rim damage at 11:00 on reverse and cleaned. VF details

I don't see any casting bubbles or other signs of a counterfeit so I'd say it's real and in real bad shape. This coin is damaged, harshly cleaned and possibly drilled? The numismatic value is darn near gone due to its condition. I wouldn't pay $100 for it but someone on ebay might.

IMO it's uncollectible.
A hole-filler at best.

I believe it is real as well. I have 2 of these with punch mark / partial holes above the head. Seems to be a common thing

I believe it is authentic. With a mintage of only 62,600 I say this coin would be a desirable hole filler in somebody's collection despite the damage.

This example on ebay sold for nearly $240 despite having much worse damage (see link) 142633749355

I don't see anything obvious that would indicate it's a fake. The condition looks to be around VF Details, with damage above Liberty's head and possibly cleaning. If it's authentic, it's worth a good several hundred.
