That's why a photo record is imperative if you plan on REALLY inventorying your collection. It can be proven what was in there in case of disaster...although you will play h**l getting any insurance weenie to honor it. It will help in the event of theft, which is a real possibility for those not savvy enough to have purchased a safe! (and secured it in place...)

And besides which, it ain't none o' yer business! Just advertise here ..."Come and Get it!"

For me ... knowing all the numbers will be very helpful when I talk to my kids about my collection. If they don't know what the true value is, they might end up dumping or selling my collection cheap, after I am gone.
Yes, this is important.

A good reason to have the face value. You tell the kids, "You can spend it and get X, but if you make an effort you can get a large multiple of X!"

Again, context. Without it your heirs might just think it is not worth their time to properly liquidate and just take it to the bank.
Rest in Peace

Along with my inventory ,I have left percific instructions for my Grandchildren of what I would like them to do with my collection when I'm gone . And that every Cent I have is worth more than face value . I also told them when the time comes to join CCF ,and that they will be more than glad to help you out with any questions they may have .

I won't be done tallying what I have for quite a while but my final face value is going to be a combination of dollars, liang, cash, jitals, aes, karshapanas, dinaros, dirhams, gulden, paisa, anna, duit, lira, fen, centavos, francs, hellers, kreuzers, drams, afghanis, zlotys, escudos, polushkas, roubles, kina, sols, shekels, banis, riyal, baht, pfennigs, marks, kurus, ngwees, vatus, cedis, birrs, dong, kwacha, quetzals, lempiras, cruzeiros, reals, pesos, pounds, leones, drinks, exploders, ice cream, beer, bread loaves, quarts of milk, mills, oxydol, soap bars, and yards of sand -- and a whole bunch of other ones too.

Hello,
In the End it is all about Money.
The face Value of my coins does not tell me much. I went with the Catalog Value from NGC and got a Value of 26.000$. Now I took about 33% off that Value and end up with 8700$. That is about Right.......I think?

According to online converters, my Yugoslavian 50,000,000 dinara note is equivalent to over $30M US.

...and I got it for free!

P.S. I gotta get me some of those Zimbabwe notes!

Hi, everyone. You are all cracking me up with your silly cents and underrated bouillon of gold & silver soups of accumulation. You are all so humble with what you got. What matters is the positive growth experience and enjoyment this hobby brings. Adrenalin rush keeps the heart strong and healthy. Let's keep on going....
