johnsopet, The folder in that 'dodgy' listing is totally genuine. VPcoins put on a show in Brisbane in Feb 08 & sold this folder with a 'C' MM coin for $4.95. There were only 973 folders, so they're pretty hard to come by. I have one sitting in front of me right now. Since then they've been realising upwards of $60 on ebay. The folder is overprinted in white & says: Brisbane Coin Fair February 2008 http://brisbanecoinfairs.com/index....22&Itemid=34If everything goes according to plan, Vic Power will be having another Brisbane Coin Fair in October 08.

Peter, Nancy and others, the folder in that listing has been changed using cut and paste on the image. It now reads Brisbane Coin Fair May 2008 and Brisbane Mintmark.
All totally false and misleading. Of course there is no Brisbane Mintmark now, they are either Privy Mark or Counterstamp on the folders.
Pity the poor buyer.

Nancy that dodgey folder is just that and I knew that in my last post I was being diplomatic until I contacted a third party who would be very interested in the listing. I have the original Feburary Brisbane Coin Fair folder with the C mm dollar and bought it from VP...and know the story behind it The altered "May" version of this folder that I found interesting caught my attention because the ebay listing was VERY SUSS (ie ANDA don't release overprinted dollar folders anymore) saying "May Coin Fair" and we all know by now that RAM have their own unique folders and coins when it comes to counterstruck coins, perviously known as MYO Well I did indeed contact the third party as stated and confirmation the folder is a fake, its misleading and the person involved just scammed a buyer.I know that this listing was reported to ebay and nothing was done. One of the issuing authorities is pursueing this as forgery and fraud...it is being investigated I can assure you so don't try this at home I urge all you good people to have another look at the listing, note the seller, blacklist him and tell everyone you know to do the same http://cgi.ebay.com/2008-Coat-of-Ar...st_W0QQitemZ270236836494QQihZ017QQcategoryZ41108QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

johnsopet, originally, the ad under discussion here did show Feb 2008 on the folder, but as Brissyboy noted, it was changed to May 2008. I know there's no overprinting on folders done for the ANDA. The ad was obviously designed to make people think they were bidding on the Feb 2008 isssue, when what they'd really get was a regular 'B' MYO coin & folder.
I'd already contacted the seller & pointed out that the image he used was very misleading & his response was basically that he couldn't care less. I will certainly never buy from this seller. I detest crooks.

Yes indeed regardless of a previous picture, someone has altered now fiddled with an original folder photo and that was no mistake,a deliberate alteration using image software

I am happy to say that the misleading folder seller was contacted by the Royal Australian Mint and thats why item was pulled up and ended early, pity someone bought it at that price I do remember same listing was bought earlier via BUY IT NOW feature but I think the seller has now got the message to just don't go there.... Just hope he doesn't now go down the desperation path and put coins in First Day Covers and call them rare PNCs RAM and Perth Mint are doing a good job but Australia Post continue to not care that people are using and abusing their product which is compromising their brand intergity

I ended up getting 2 B counterstamps. One to take out of the folder for photos and one for a spare. Sure not buying any more now at the present price.
Had a friend fly down to Brisbane for the coin fair but he could only put up with the line for one time around. I take my hat off to those that stood in line for an hour or more. I couldn't do it. I get agro waiting 10 minutes in line at the bank.

But everywhere I go I have to wait! Wait an hour at the doctor, wait another hour at the chemist , wait 15 minutes at the post office. My day is gone doing nothing! My cat has no patience either. He just pounced on me cos he won't wait for his food Lol.

Don't forget the Brisbane Show was a short duration show. If the press goes to the Royal Melbourne Show then that goes for 10 days and the mintage will be over 3 times as many. In other words don't expect M's to do as well as B's
