Hi all,
Just a reminder that the Brisbane ANDA Coin Fair is on from tomorrow 23 May to Sunday 25 May at the RNA (Exhibition) Grounds.
The RAM will have their portable press there to stamp the B counterstamp dollars.
The coin clubs will also have displays, so if you come along do say hello.

Isn't the B counterstamp dollar like 50 dollars now?

No...B counterstamp will be placed on the Coat of Arms $1 coins at the Brisbane ANDA Coin show this weekend. Cost (I think is around $3 each)

justabeginner,
That is the coin in the auction. I think that buy it now price is outragous and premature. The coins have not even been stamped yet so we have no idea of the final mintage though the are usually between 2,500 and 4,500 depending on how many people and dealers go and purchase coins.
The difference between this counterstamp and the privy mark is the shape of the window the B sits in. Counterstamp have oval window, privy mark has square window. The B privy mark coins are struck in Canberra at the RAM where the die has the b on it and mintage is upwards of 20,000. The coins for the B counterstamp are also struck in Canberra but without any mark on the die. These are then counterstamped at the relevant shows with the mark on a portable press. This will be the second counterstamp for the year following the S mark and later in the year will be the M mark.
The C mark struck in Canberra at RAM is raised and has no window. It is the only Mint Mark in this series
All coins sell for just under $3 but counterstamp issues usually rise in value due to the low mintages and that they can only be obtained at THAT show.
Peter Thomas and justabeginner, how many do you want? I am getting coins for Aussie Coins, Banknotes and Tokens Forum members, so you are also welcome.

The link Justa pointed to is for the Brisbane coin fair overprint folder. Not the same as the regular folder. Typically they sell for $40+ dollars.
At least I think that's what the seller is selling. His description is a bit vague, but the photo shows the overprint folder.
"Images are for Presentation Purposes only, Presentation Folder may be differn't from the one shown, but the counter stamp has not changed (B) within a circle."

I'll see if I can come up on sunday, only a 2 hour drive.
Might even go up tomorrow after school, but I doubt it.

Actually, I sent an email to the seller in the link above advising him that his ad was very misleading. He pictures a Brisbane Coin Fair folder but what he is really flogging is the counterstamp that hasn't gone on sale yet. His response indicated he would not be changing the wording. At least one poor blighter has already bought one.
Another seller I've added to my little black list of ones to avoid due to their shonky practices.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

He should at least get rid of that picture of an overprint folder then. That's really a completely different item.

What is dodgy is that he knew that he was misleading the buyer on purpose.... Cause he set the buy it now price to 60 bucks... Obviously, he has that intention in his mind... Maybe we should tell the buyer that? I'm sure the buyer may be able to open a dispute or something, claiming that item is not as pictured...

The folder photographed in his listing is interesting. I have never seen or heard of it but have made an enquiry about it to a 3rd party who would be interested in this listing....
