The edges are very smooth and none of the actual elements of the coin look to be affected but the rim. What do you think? By the way, those aren't struck through threads. Those are random dog hairs.

It appears to be a genuine clip.

By the way, always hold coins by the edges and avoid touching the faces!

Can see the Blakesly effect, weakening at 180 degrees out, called a straight clip, the edge of stock plate.

@Crazyb0, that's a great diagram to lay it all out. I never knew why they were caused. I just knew how they were caused. Also, are those just well placed scratches above and below the "TY" in "LIBERTY"?

Most likely. The pics aren't clear enough when zooming in to that level.
