bought my QX5 for $79.95. It would be nice if it had variable magnification from 26X -> 130X. The QX5 only has 10, 60 and 200 settings.

From what I can see, you would ahve to remove the base to be able to look at coins. Holding it free hand and trying to push the button on the top to take the pictures might be difficult. You may be able to build a stand for it, but I think I would go with the QX5.

No that thing isn't good for coins. I had a target gift card and bought one from the target website. It was terrible for coins. I ended up returning it.
