1978-P BU LMC Reverse Blob Of Metal...or Foreign Material?

Going through these 1978-P UNC cents and saw what looks like this metal chunk on the reverse.
Is it something stuck to the back, foreign debris? I am reticent to "preserve" it until I get an opinion.
It looks like zinc bloom/rot but the 5% zinc should't cause that should it?

It looks like corrosion or something stuck to the coin.

Thanks, after your post I used a soft plastic toothpick to pop it off...foreign debris of some kind stuck to it.

Possible clear grease. It picked up color as it circulated. But you often see this near the rims and sometimes in the bays.

This is easily removed as you did with a toothpick.
