Not much has been said about this fascinating 25 cents 1953 Double Date or Hub Doubled variety

From Icollector I can see 3 examples sold in the last 10 years or so...

Wondering why it's not more popular? It's a gorgeous example of true doubling (split serifs and everything)

I have wondered the same it seems that only certain years apply for that category? 1962 5 cent, 1951 10 cent, 1955 25 cent yet other years in the same denomination don't get recognised at all like this coin here's mine

Lovely Example papeldog!

It's my understanding that the 5c 1962 is not real doubling ( Die Deterioration doubling?), same for 10c 1951 ( Machine Doubling)...I dont know about the 25c 1955...

Which makes the 25c 1953 doubling particularly special...it's real in the way that the USA 1955 1c Lincoln Cent Double Die is real doubling

A double-die that I'd love to feature in 'Canadian Spice' column, but I have not been able to get my hands on a decent example for photography....
