Hi All,
I am new to this site and collecting as I have recently inherited a collection. The first item that caught my attention is this 1968 D offset strike penny.
Does something like this have much value?

Thanks
TNS

to the forum! Hope ya stick around!

Because that has the date and is about a 40% strike is has a value of $5-8 on ebay. Actually, its what someone will pay, realistically, $5. Haven't seen many 68 offsets!

TNS!

I can see why it caught your eye.

I would say it's about a 50% off-center strike (real Mint error). As mentioned, having the date and mintmark remaining increases the value a little. Being a 95% copper cent increases the value a little over modern cents. It looks to be in pretty good shape, so I would say the value is around $10, but that is 1000x face value!

Please share more of the inheritance. There may be much more interesting things in there that don't immediately catch the eye.
