I am thinking this is more likely a foreign coin or some token and not really identifiable, but thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas. It was in a box lot of stuff I bought so no way of knowing where it came from or how old it is.

Seems to be brass, non-magnetic, and same size as a nickel although slightly lower in weight.

I'd guess nickel forgery for machine purchases. You can find blanks more commonly for quarters.

Most gaming tokens I've seen are roughly quarter sized. This is too small to fit most machines. I was thinking like those common presidential tokens or something like that. Not so many things are nickel sized, although lots of foreign coins are.
