I was super-excited to receive this in the mail from our own @MikeF http://goccf.com/t/304984). It is my first Vermont copper (and my first output from Machin's Mills). The attribution is W-2120/Bressett 15-S, which can be determined from the break in the upper left of the letter A in AUCTORI plus the stubby fillet ribbon on the obv portrait of George. The corrosion gives this VG coin a details designation, but I'm still happy with this pick-up. Interestingly, the provenance includes Dr. Carlyle A. Luer, a surgeon and bontanist. Thanks guys. These colonials are really the only place where I am still adding to my US collection.

I hesitated to even open this thread because I know how easily I could be pulled in the direction of colonial coppers. Beautiful coin!

Quote: how easily I could be pulled in the direction of colonial coppers I agree, but at least they are generally cheaper than the colonial silvers.

I'm familiar with Massachusetts shillings and Mexican Reales but are there other silver issues that circulated in the US that I'm not aware of?
