I'm still learning as well but I'm going with MD. Step-like is the best way I can tell. But I'm sure I've tossed away DD's in the process

MD. Do you have a full obverse and reverse picture? Just read Yeah MD. Proofs are struck twice so it could look like a doubled die but it isn't if that helps crazy or coop can explain it better

Here is the only reason I thought it was a double die.

Looks like MD to me, but I'm no expert. Crazy or coop can explain it better.

You see the notching in have pointed the arrows at? Most of the time you see that notching and splits you have a doubled die

#4 is called: flat field doubling on a proof coin. Still Machine Doubling, but the cause is from Strike Doubling as proof coins are struck more than once. The die is normal, the strike was the issue. So it is not a doubled die.
