Ok. So I've got some good news, and bad news after receiving the coin. The good outweighs the bad though IMO, based on how much I paid.
Good news:
VERY strong details, at least AU-58 IMO. No evidence of wear, and the eagle wing/breast details and shield line details are much sharper than what is shown in the pics.
Definitely a full head.
Definitely original surface. Gorgeous Cartwheel luster, no hairlines and mild toning.

Bad news:
Several very tiny green spots above the surface of the coin. I had been reading intently about the acetone treatment on this forum, and decided to give it a shot. It worked! No more green visible under a 10x magnifying glass, and it didn't hurt the coin any.

So now I'm left with a quarter that is full head and looks BU. The type 1 blows away my AU type 2 with the intracacy of the details. I am guessing that the green was PVC? or mild corrosion? there is no pitting, but I am left wondering if there is still some mild PVC or corrosion that is not visible to the eye.

So, I have decided to keep the coin, as there is no way I could get one that looks this good for the price I paid. So anyways, I could send the coin to NCS?
or I could let it soak overnight in acetone to potentially kill off any invisible baddies?

I will try to take some additional pictures if I can get ahold of a better camera(mine sucks).

Another interesting note. Here is a cleaned NCS graded one that appears to have the hit on the breast in the SAME spot as mine?

Also interesting that it has bid up to $325, even though it is cleaned? I paid $125 for mine.

If the acetone removed it it was most likely PVC contamination and not corrosion. (Acetone will not touch actual raised corrosion.) Acetone is VERY good at quickly dissolving PVC contamination so if you are really worried about it a quick RINSE not soak should be all you need to remove any last traces of the contamination.

I recommend a flowing rinse (Literally just pour some acetone over the coin.) because with a soak it will dissolve it off and when you pull the coin out some of the contaminated acetone is still on the coin and can leave the plasticizer on the coin again if it has a chance to evaporate. The flowing rinse dissolves the plasticizer and then flushes it away off the coin.
