1982 D Small Date? In Need Of Some Help.

I found this 1982 d cent and to my dismay it has been run through a coin wrapper. The 2 appears as if it has the curvature of a small date. If you look you can see the curvature just north of the damage. My question is this, if this is the one in a million famous 1982 D small cent, with the damage can it be verified? Help....
