The poor owner of this fake gold bar got ripped off and is just trying to educate others. You have to admit that this one is about as bad as it can get. I messaged him to find out how it got all mangled up, it looks like an enraged dog got to it.

again, this guy is NOT trying to sell this bar, I give him/her credit for coming forward and telling his story.

Mark, ahhh, DOH!

This fellow is doing a great service, IF the ID-10-tea drinker would bother to read his description and study the real and fake examples he shows.

That's what I figured from reading his description.

Either his dog has crimping pliers for teeth, or his name is "dog".

An excellent example of why it is important to learn about your purchase before you make it.

If you are spending thousands on something it would seem natural to review the product and possible reproductions or fakes and how to spot them.

Otherwise you get an extremely costly education afterwards.

Though it would be funny if he actually sold it for $3000!

That is a good eBayer.

I got ripped by an eBayer shewhocan'tbenamed. The FBI contacted me and requested any documentation I had. I gave them hard copies and a CD.

Never did find out how that worked out.

I'm sure he did it to find out for sure it's fake. Before it was mangled, it was not obvious at all. They're actually pretty darn good.

Which is why if I bought gold on ebay it would come from one of the major bullion dealers.
