Hello to all
I live in Sydney Oz and have been a banknote collecter for almost 5 years. I buy mostly from dealers and dabble sometimes on the wonderful world of ebay.
Interests - first and last prefix paper and polymer. Somehow I find it more worthwhile to collect a premium note than a general issue.

I did originally collect coins but....like all young and foolish people, didn't follow it up closely enough and sold them off.

So it's prefixes only from now on.

Hi
Just putting in my 2 cents worth. (pardon the pun)
Firstly Lim can you translate Le Troisi me Chevalier into Aussie for me. What does it mean?
Now little bit about me.
Born and bred in Perth.
I live in a small crayfishing (lobster) town north of Perth.
The taste of lobster?
I can take it or leave it.
I might have one tail per year.
Usually at the beginning of the fishing season, after the five month break.
Cut length ways down the shell with the head left on and cooked on the barby still in it's shell with a bit of garlic is best I think.
Seal open flesh side quickly by putting it flesh side down for a matter of seconds only (like sealing a piece of steak I suppose) and then turn over onto the shell, throw in a bit of garlic and let it cook in it's own juices until flesh just turns from opaik to white.
I eat the tails only and give the heads to my Kiwi mates they love em.
Oh I forgot one important thing.
You must remember to have a frosty cold beer or cool white wine with the meal.
Fresh crusty bread is also a nice accompanyment.
Have I made you hungry?
I can,t stand the West Coast Eagles, don't mind the Fremantle Dockers, and I love the mighty Blue Baggers (Carlton).
Born in 1959 I have been collecting coins since 1966.
I stick with unc coins.
Too many variables in circ coins.
No grey areas with unc coins, they either unc or not.
Great to be part of the forum
I learn something new everyday.
One thing I ponder as an Australian though.
Why do we use aussie, aussie, aussie, oi, oi, oi, as a chant.
Growing up in Perth as a kid, I can only associate this chant with English skinheads in their Doc Marten boots screaming oogy, oogy, oogy, oi, oi, oi, as they chased us down the street to beat the living daylights out of us.
Ahhhh fond childhood memories.
See Ya

Hey,
Name's John. Just started collecting coins about 4 weeks ago. I have a couple mates who have been doing it a long time and they got me into it. I'm 19 and live in Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. My collection so far is rather small.

So far I've got:
- RAM 2005 Coming Home Unc. Set (birthday present.)
- Eureka E MM $1 Unc.
- Commonwealth Games M MM $1 Unc.
- 50 years of television C MM $1 Unc.
- RAM 2006 50c Queens Birthday Unc.
- RAM 2006 50c Royal Visit Unc.

Given to me:
- 2003 Centenary of womens Sufferage $1 Unc.
- 2004 Koala, Rosella, Wombat 50c
- 2005 World War Rememberance 50c

And the ones I've found in circulation:
- 2x 2005 MOR $1
- 2x 2005 Dancing Man $1
- 6x 2005 'platypus' 20c
- 1x 2005 Coming Home 20c
- 1x 1996 NZ 10c

That's it, my ENTIRE collection. Not bad for four weeks work but I'll keep it growing.

Cheers, spd.
