Hi,

I am looking for a gift for my mother in law. I was searching for her birth year of 1945.
I came across an ebay page with a listing of "COIN POPE JOHN PAUL 2 II LIER 50 VATICANO 100 FREE SHIP" The listing shows that the date is 1945.

Can anyone shed some light on this coin?
I have looked high and low for any listing of this coin but only eaby links are found.

Not sure how it could be 1945 and JP II, as Piux XII was Pope in '45. The Vatican did produce coins in 1945. I expect, judging from the seller, that it's some kind of novelty without significant numismatic value, which doesn't mean that it isn't a good gift necessarily.
