Thanks for posting this. I remember when this horde was found and it's great to get an update on it.

The presentation shows how the UK gets it right when it comes to antiquities laws. Because these laws respect the property rights of the land owner and the detectorist they are both willing to work with the archaeological authorities when a horde is found. Contrast this with other countries where hordes are confiscated, thereby encouraging the finds to be held privately or sold on the black market.

It was really exciting for me to watch the presentation in light of what another forum member stumbled into about a year ago (and subsequently included me on his journey). The Wold Newton Hoard closely resembled the coin make up of what we acquired from a hoard in France.
