1964 D Nickel RPM/Omm #2?

I couldn't find a match for this coin. Unlike the other this coin doesn't show any MD on the rest of it. But it maybe just strike ( PMD) damage,I hope not but might be! I have seen different year coins that resemble this one though. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

What year did they stop making over mintmarks?

I think they were pretty much done on 1956 on cents. The 1981-D separate 'S' was deleted. (not found on the same die in earlier die state) That would be in interesting thread though?

This coin is a an example of the post broken on the mint mark. Also MD on the mint mark. If you look on the left side of the coin, you can see the striation lines from the sharp edge of the die moving on the mint mark after the strike.

So keep in mind the shape for an over mint mark would be raised off the die, (as it would have been punched into the die) and be the shape for the current mint mark punch/punches for that year. The eye often fools you into thinking it is a different mint mark on the coin. But if the shape and not being raised is not on the coin, then it is just your imagination.

Thanks again, That's why I posted as RPM/OMM not just OMM. I suppose I'll have to look further into the OMM details.
