1968 D Lincoln Cent. Need Some Help With The Word Liberty.

While going through some coins I found this 1968 D Lincoln Cent that looks like it took a hit on the L and I in LIBERTY. Upon looking closer through the loupe it looks as if the I is on top of the B and it is solidly on there. I took a toothpick to try to move it but it is solid. I am not sure what to think of this. Help please.

Looks like your coin was damaged by a vending machine. Note how the 'LI' was flattened.
1968-D-Lincoln-Cent.-Need-Some-Help-With-The-Word-Liberty.
The lines on that area are parallel to the rim. Typical for this type of damage.
