I'm new here and looking for info on a coin I found about 10-12 yrs ago. It's a ya nickel 19? I noticed it's all the edging was rounded like the stamp or press or however they do it was dull? I don't know if it has any value or not I just always thought it was a neat coin and kept it.

Sounds as if it could be a Dryer Coin. We really need photos to be sure.

Sounds like a spooned coin, tough to tell without photos though.

It appears that the coin has spent some time rolling around the drum of a commercial clothes dryer.

I'm not sure it's a commercial dryer coin/spooned coin or something else. Either way it did not leave the mint this way. Sorry but it's just a damaged coin.

I don't think it is a Dryer Coin either,it has taken a tremendous amount of pressure to roll the edges that way! it looks like another garage job!

Note that the metal falls over the devices. No way this could of happened at the mint. The letters and rim were normal when the coin was struck. Altered after the strike.
