f-15 here. I'm concerned about 1 o clock on the obverse. Looks like borderline ED. Has the black stuff eaten into the surface of the coin?

Vf25. Type 2 obverse and reverse. Have you weighed the coin and seen whether it sticks to a magnet? Looks genuine but never hurts to make sure and eliminate the obvious bogeys.

MikeF: Interesting question! (I blush to admit I had to look up "ED" in the glossary.). I have tried to get different angles on the black areas:

Can't tell from the pics. You would be a better judge since you have it in hand. Hold it at an angle close to a light source so that the light reflects off of it. If you see depressions where those spots are then it is ED. If the spots are raised, then it's just gunk that built up on the surface.
