Why is the surface of this bronze coin granular looking? Is that corrosion?

Is it natural or artificial? Does it detract from the value much?

Should cleaning (ever) be attempted on such coins?

What would you grade it?

Thank you.

The granular look is simply a small spotty toning. Do not clean this coin at all. US standards would be high EF, or AU.

Thank you for the quick replies. Will leave it alone :) Toning is fine.

Would it grade as "environmental damage"?
