It could just be the lighting but it seems that it has been cleaned? Hope that's not the case as it seems to be a rather scarce coin - not that I know much about gold Brazil coins.

Yeah, "sweated" look from jewelry use... and of course the removed mount marks on the cross side (reasonably neatly repaired).

In terms of wear, probably call it "about XF". Wouldn't be shocked to see it in an NGC "XF details" holder.

Here's a good comparison... Yours has a bit stronger detail, but this one doesn't have the obvious mount marks. Similar "sweated"/buffed jewelry surface:
