I need some help to know if this is an authentic or fake 1864 2 cents small motto. They wanted US$ 100 for it, which I think itīs too much considering how much the coin is worn.

Unfortunately this one is an 1864 large motto. The most telling signs are on the ends of the banners. They do not match an authentic small motto 1864. I also like to look at the you in Trust because a large motto has a completely different shape compared to the small motto.
I give it a grade of G6 certainly not worth $100
If it was a small motto $100 would be a steal
Rest in Peace

. There are a lot of hopeful large motto out in the world marked as small motto.

Small motto are hard to come by and certainly would be a steal for that price. It's smart to ask BEFORE you buy.

Hi moxking I didnīt buy the coin. I was asking here at coincommunity first, but I suspect they are overpricing the coin.

Definitely a large motto, unfortunately. The easiest way to tell is the T in TRUST. In the Small Motto, the T is touching the middle of the ribbon, on the Large Motto, there is a small gap. This is showing the gap, so it's a large motto.
