I found this 1974 quarter with no mint mark and when I drop it on the table it sounds different than a 79 quarter that I compared it with. Are they different metals or some thing. Info please

No MM means made in Philly. The sound difference might be from circulation wear or a rolled thin planchet.Weight of the two?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the so-called ping test, but that is probably because I don't exactly understand the physics of why it works. I agree that this quarter appears to be normal.
