nickelsearcher's post got me thinking about my own lowball coin. I'm satisfied that this coin is a 1921 but I want folks opinions on whether it makes PO-1 or not? Also any idea on the value?

H-m-m. Worried it might be 1924, but I'm no expert on this series.

That looks like a '24 to me.

The last "1" on 1921 on Peace dollars is very narrow. Your example shows a wider number.

It's not a 4 although it looks like one. The wear pattern in the hair is the marker that tells me it's a 21...I think.

The 21 would show a different wear pattern on the upper half of the obverse. As such, this does look like a 1924.

For the grade, I am thinking FR-2.

I believe it is a 1921. The vertical line on the last digit points almost directly to the designer's initials. On the 1924, it would be to the right.

Thanks Alpha, that's a pretty obvious data point I was unaware about. Thanks for pointing it out.

I think it would grade FR2 but is a cool coin regardless. It's a close to PO1 so a couple years as a pocket piece should get it there anyway. The date? I see Alpha2814's point about the direction of the last digit which does indicate a 1921 even though it looks like a 24.
