Not sure if it was minted by Italy, it has an exclamation point in there so, If it is real, it is the only un-formal coin I've ever seen. Take it to a coin dealer who specializes in medals, or WWI coins. it is pretty cool, if authentic, it would be worth a lot of money.

I have no doubt that this is an authentic medal.

This website provides the information on this medal https://numismatica-italiana.lamone...a/W-ME61O/17

In Chrome and it translated the page for me when I clicked the translate page icon.

As with all Mussolini medals, there are many fakes. Check the weight carefully against what is listed by La Moneta.

Good point, I hadn't thought to do that. It weighs 31.6 grams instead of the 32.86 grams lamoneta states.
Does that end the discussion?

Not entirely, but as I mentioned these are widely faked. It's the obverse signature C. Rivalta that worries me. It seems to lack the fluidity that I've seen on other examples of this medal. Or it could just be a pressing when the dies were nearing exhaustion, the escutcheon on the helmet also looks to be a weak strike.
