1942 P Jefferson Nickle Hubbie Found On The Job

My husband being a heavy equipment operator (with eyes like a hawk ) is always bringing home something he's found in the dirt.
Saturday while working o/t in downtown Napa he found a1942 Jefferson nickle with a large P mint mark on reverse above the dome? What's the scoop?

It has silver content and worth more than face value.

Type one is a normal nickel, the type 2 is the silver coin.
